Welcome!
Monday, June 9th, 2008My name is Ed Bennett. I’ve been manufacturing tools for aligning and adjusting woodworking machinery for the last 17 years. I’ve shipped thousands of my alignment tools to professional and amateur woodworkers all over the world. I’m sure that I haven’t seen every possible problem but I’ve probably seen more than most people do in a lifetime. I didn’t create this blog to promote my products. I’ve created this blog for two reasons:
-
To help fellow woodworkers develop their Table Saw skills. That’s right, it’s not automatic - the machine doesn’t do everything on its own. It takes some skill and knowledge to get good results from a Table Saw.
-
To provide reliable resource for solid information about the alignment and adjustment of the Table Saw. As I read popular magazines, books, and view various TV shows and videos, I’m appalled by the advice offered from so-called “experts”. Experts who really know what they are doing don’t resort to trial and error. They don’t “sneak up” on machine settings. They don’t need test cuts. These primitive techniques are the hallmark of those with virtually no machinery skills. That doesn’t mean that they can’t produce examples of fine woodworking. It means they waste a huge amount of time and effort (and wood) goofing around because they don’t understand how to use their Table Saw. I present an intelligent alternative in this blog.
I hope you find this blog interesting and helpful. Please join in and contribute with your comments and questions.
